Nexis Enters a New Phase of International Growth with InfraVia
9 Sep 2026Regensburg, September 9, 2026. Nexis, the company behind the leading Identity Visibility and Intelligence Platform (IVIP), is entering the next phase of its international growth strategy. InfraVia, a France-based private equity investor, acquires a majority stake in the company and provides capital and international experience to accelerate Nexis’ expansion beyond the DACH market. Tikehau Capital joins as a minority shareholder, while existing investor Elvaston also remains on board.
Founded in Regensburg in 2009, Nexis has grown steadily in the DACH region since its start. Third-party analysts such as Gartner and KuppingerCole recognize the company across multiple identity-related categories, including IVIP. Today Nexis serves more than 130 renowned customers across finance, insurance, manufacturing, and automotive sectors like Munich Re, AXA and Swiss Post.
Large enterprises in regulated industries are facing a rapidly growing number of identities, from employees and contractors to AI agents and other non-human identities, while regulations such as DORA, NIS2, and ISO 27001 are raising expectations for transparency and audit readiness. The NEXIS Platform addresses both challenges by giving organizations a single, unified view of every digital identity, connecting identity and access management (IAM) with governance, risk, and compliance (GRC), and turning a highly technical discipline into a process that business teams can own, manage and govern.
Focus on International Markets
With InfraVia aboard, Nexis will accelerate its international expansion and strengthen its position as a European leader in the identity security market, building on InfraVia’s extensive experience in successfully scaling European technology companies.
The management team stays in place and provides continuity. Dr. Heiko Klarl and Dr. Michael Kunz will remain in their roles as managing directors, steering the company through its next phase of growth and innovation.
“Finding a partner who shares our international ambitions was essential for us,” says Dr. Heiko Klarl, CEO of Nexis. “With InfraVia, we found an investor with a proven record of building European technology leaders. Together we will continue to innovate identity governance and compliance as the leading IVIP platform built in Europe.”
“Our customers trust us to close functional and visibility gaps in identity security while making complex governance processes intuitive for those who actually run them,” says Dr. Michael Kunz, COO at Nexis. “With InfraVia, we extend this approach to more organizations across Europe and beyond, combining intelligent automation and AI-supported decision-making with an extraordinary user experience.”
“Our investment in Nexis perfectly embodies our strategy and focus on efficient growth while benefiting from clear AI tailwinds,” says Romain Favrelle, Director at InfraVia. “We are extremely happy to partner with Heiko, Michael and the whole team, and will leverage our full capabilities to help them grow their footprint to a multiple of the current one.”
